Chongqing is situated in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River in Southwest China. She is 82,400 square kilometers and share borders with the provinces of Hubei, Hunan, Guizhou, Sichuan and Shaanxi. There are 40 counties in Chongqing.
Chongqing city is at the confluence of Yangtze River and Jialing Rivers, surrounded by mountains. So, it is known as a city of mountains, river and fog. Chongqing is most attractive at night. Standing on a mountain, you can see both the real lights in the city and the light reflection in the river.
Chongqing belongs to the subtropical zone. The features are warm winter, hot summer, early spring and short autumn. The annual average temperature here is 18℃ with lows of 6-8℃ in January and highs of 27℃ to 38℃ in July to August.
